A New Romance Author to Fall For!

Hi everyone! I'm so glad you found my blog. So to answer the first (and probably most important question)...who is Aurelia St. James? Well, I'm a new published author! But I'm not new to the writing scene. I've been writing most of my life, mainly just as a hobby. I had dreams of being published when I was younger, but honestly...I never thought it would be possible. So, I pushed the hobby aside as life started to...well, life.

In the last few years, I've come to a lot of realizations. And unfortunately, some of them hit like a ton of bricks. But, that's not necessarily a bad thing. I picked up a pen again last year (literally...I wrote in notebooks) and discovered something new about myself.

And what was that, you ask? Well, I found that by writing my characters, I was able to pull from real-life experiences, and in doing so, I helped them cope with the trauma they experienced on the page. And guess what? It also helped me in a way. So I guess you could say writing has been my own form of therapy.

I spent months writing my debut novel, and I don't even remember how many drafts I went through. In fact, at one point, I changed the whole dynamic of the first 10+ chapters. Let me tell you, my editor had her hands full with me.

But it paid off! I struggled in the query trenches (other writers know what I'm talking about...they are not for the faint of heart), and FINALLY, I was offered a publishing contract. Not just for one book though; nope, it was for TWO.

My debut novel, Taming the Viking, is part of a series called B-More Brawlers. At the time, there were plans to only have two books in the series, but that changed. Now, there are three. (More to come about that).

For those who have already read the first book, and asking me when the second will be available...I will tell you that the first draft is complete. But I need to let that draft simmer for a bit before I go back to it. But just know, it's coming!

I can't wait to share the rest of my novels, and the characters, with everyone. And I hope you'll continue to support me in my journey as a published author! You have no idea how much I appreciate each and every one of you!
